From my studies and living through the pandemic of 2021, much of my studying was achieved through digital technology: an area I have found difficult due to lack of experience. Learning how to deal with and connect with Zoom, and in designing blogs and websites has been a big achievement for me. There are still some specific areas that I need more practice with, but my skills appear to be improving. Through my recent studies I explored the use of literacy practices in the classroom through creating a personal journal/blog which indeed was a very helpful exercise. For educational and learning purposes I believe children would enjoy developing and adapting to using these modern day skills They could add to it on a regular basis, draw pictures, make collages and learn about digital technology and the benefits and dangers that do exist through social sites. It would also encourage the child to reflect and discuss their work and findings with others, and to think critically. As a child I always kept a diary. To me this is similar but with the added attraction of using digital technology which children seem to connect to much easier than my generation.
